Partial Dentures

Dentists can replace multiple missing teeth utilizing dental implants, fixed bridgework, partial dentures or a combination of these options. The individual treatment plan depends on the health of the remaining teeth and the surrounding bone, the functional needs, the projected appearance of the restored smile, as well as the financial considerations involved in each proposed method.
Replacing missings teeth is very important for a number of reasons, including avoiding any unhealthy shifting of the remaining natural teeth, facilitating eating, chewing  and speech dynamics, as well as restoring the smile for cosmetic purposes.

With the highly sophisticated dental materials available today, selecting any one of the treatment options mentioned above will produce beautiful results. If you and your dentist decide that partial dentures are the treatment of choice to replace your multiple missing teeth, you can rest assured this is an excellent method to restore your smile.

Partial dentures fall under the category of removable prosthetic appliances. This means that although they are secured to your remaining teeth, you can take them out when indicated to clean. Partial dentures are similar to full dentures in as much as they have a small flesh-colored base that blends in with the surrounding soft tissues. Additionally, this base may include an extra supportive and biocompatible infrastructure for stability. Integrated into this framework are the natural looking and aesthetically pleasing replacement teeth.

Dr. Douglas Garczynski and the professional staff at Albee Dental Care take great pride in carefully guiding our patients through each step of fabricating their partial denture and the process of getting accustom to the new prosthesis. Our partial denture patients report how comfortable their new appliances have become and that they can indeed talk, laugh, eat and enjoy their restored smile. Of course, we encourage every partial denture wearer to clean their appliance just as well as they clean their natural teeth so that they last longer.

Veneers

Veneers

Here at Albee Dental Care, we offer dental veneers to patients who hope to improve and restore their smile. Patients that are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth because of discoloration, decay, old fillings, oddly shaped teeth, misplaced teeth, chips in the teeth, or spaces between teeth often choose dental veneers to achieve a brilliant and perfect smile. Veneers consist of ultra thin shells of high strength porcelain that cover the face of existing tooth structure in a most natural and attractive manner.

Superior cosmetic smile results can be obtained with porcelain veneers. The actual process involves no discomfort and takes just a few visits from start to finish. In fact the whole process can often be completed in under two weeks.

Only minimal underlying tooth preparation of the natural teeth is required in order to make room for the veneers. Once the teeth are prepared an impression is then taken and sent to the laboratory for customized fabrication.  At the final visit the veneers are bonded to their teeth and polished. The color and shape of the veneers enhance and illuminate smile yet blend naturally with the other teeth.

If you are  interested in improving your smile with dental veneers, Albee Dental Care in Jamaica, NY offers Free Cosmetic Smile Makeover Consultations. At this visit Dr. Douglas Garczynski will evaluate your smile, discuss your treatment goals, and develop a plan with you to build a more beautiful smile.

Albee Dental Care offers Lumineers by Cerinate, which are among the most natural and strongest veneers available.

Patients located in Jamaica and the greater Queens, NY communities are invited to our practice for veneers. We have office hours on Saturday and Sunday for the convenience of our patients.

Bonding

    Bonding

Chipped, cracked and fractured teeth can ruin your smile, but at Albee Dental Care, we offer several restorative solutions including tooth bonding. Bonding is a great option in order to restore or repair fractured, cracked, or discolored teeth in a most satisfying and cost effective manner.

Bonding involves applying and customizing a layer of composite resin to the tooth. The resin is carefully matched to the color of the remaining tooth structure and creates a most natural appearance.

The process takes only one visit. The tooth is first prepared, by microscopically etching the surface in order to make it a little rougher so that the bonding material will adhere to it. A bonding liquid it then brushed over the tooth. Next, the resin is applied and molded to perfectly repair the defect. A special light directed at the tooth hardens the resin. The procedure is then completed by removing the excess resin and polishing the new restoration to a smooth finish. The bonded tooth appears completely natural and  blends in perfectly with the rest of your smile.

There are several benefits to using tooth bonding to repair fractured or chipped teeth including:
  • Cost: Bonding is often one of the least expensive cosmetic procedures.
  • Speed: In most instances, bonding is completed in one visit and usually takes about an hour for each tooth.
  • No Anesthesia: Tooth bonding can usually be done without the use of anesthesia unless a cavity also needs to be filled.
  • Ease: Bonding is often one of the easiest cosmetic procedures to repair damaged teeth.

At Albee Dental Care, we take pride in providing our patients with exceptional dentistry in a state of the art facility. For more information on bonding or any other procedure, please call our office at 718-658-0123.
